Plurk is down.. tonight...
:(
But that also gave me an opportunity to catch up on blogging here.
I've neglected this blog for weeks!
Here are some interesting pieces of news which I've caught on Fox News:
Married Women Sleep Better Than Single Women
In addition to the above, it is quoted "Caucasian and Japanese participants reported the highest rate of marital happiness." Mmmm.. but the study is in US context though. Wonder what will be the rate for Singapore?
Now on food:
Men Better at Suppressing Appetite Than Women
In the experiment, "...even though the women said they were less hungry when trying to inhibit their response to the food, their brains were still firing away in the regions that control the drive to eat." And guess what's the possible explanation given for such a behaviour: "Because the traditional role of the female is to provide nutrition to children, the female brain may be hard-wired to eat when foods are available".... huh? it makes us sound like birds (you know, like crows will bring food back, chew, and feed their young with them).
Cutting Calories May Boost Your Memory
Wonder if it's really true? It is observed that the group with a calorie-restricted diet has decreased levels of insulin and fewer signs of inflammation. According to researchers, that's why the cells are healthier, and thus, (perhaps?) leads to boost in memory. Mmm... maybe I should start trying out calorie-restricted diet too? But first to check out how much calories I need, the calories the food contain, etc.

Sharing of Feeds Time 3
Sharing of feeds time again...
Don't you envy kids at times
especially their bravery in attempting new areas?
Like their lack of fear of falling/ injury/ death
when they learn cycling, swimming, rollerblading etc
How I wish I can go back time
and learn all these tricks when I'm younger
and not so afraid of pain and scars :P
Here's an article that expanded the idea further...
What Leaders Can Learn From Children
Besides the bravery that children has,
what else can we learn from the little ones?
Remember my earlier post on gender issues...
Here's an update on women in the corporate world:
A business case for women
It also shares on some strategies to attract/ retain the female workforce.
And lastly...
this is for all bloggers & webmasters
130+ New Tools to Make You a Better and Faster Designer
Cool...
I have yet to browse them one by one...
Do let me know if you find any of them particularly useful :)

Error, Scrapbooking & Women
Finally the long-awaited long weekend is here :)
Did some catching up on my feeds... and found these very interesting ones...
What does this error means?
i tried out with the 404 error, besides explaining what 404 means, it also gives solutions.
And for all who loved scrapbooking...
Here's an online version... ScrapBlog
I do travel logs (not exactly scrapbooking, as it's only decorated with text and photographs).
Scrapbooking can be a rather expensive hobby, a trip to the nearest scrapbooking store has befuddled me with loads of fancy papers, stamps, shape cutters, ribbons, stickers etc. And they aren't cheap...
So for a cheaper option, you can try ScrapBlog instead. Mmm.. but perhaps the fun of getting your hands dirty (actual touch of the papers with different textual, arranging, cutting and gluing) may be missed though.
And finally the article on women - or rather gender discrimination
If Women Were More Like Men
Most studies on gender discrimination compares between men and women of similar work experiences and educational level (anyway by that standard, there's a gap too). But this case it's different. It comparing a transgender- from a guy to a gal, is there any differences in treatment that he -> she gets? Apparently so... though it may be masked by the fact that workplaces may have certain discimination hiring transgender.
Interesting... wonder if there's a study outta to read on?
