Japanese Language Made Simpler – Lesson 2

Today’s lesson will be introducing on pronouns, ie. I, you, he, she, we and they.

  • I – watashi 私
  • You – anata あなた
  • He – kare 彼
  • She – kanojo 彼女
  • We – watashitachi 私たち
  • They – karera 彼ら

And we will be learning how to construct simple sentences like this structure:

  • I am a teacher.
  • She is a nurse.

[Pronoun] is/are [Noun].

In Japanese here’s how it will be translated to:
[Pronoun] wa [Noun] desu.

For eg. watashi wa sensei desu = 私は先生です。= I am a teacher.

Thus,
She is a nurse. = kanojo wa kangoshi desu. = 彼女は看護しです。(kangoshi = nurse)
